Nelson Thinks He Can Please Both Sides…

If you’ve followed Ben Nelson (D-NE) at all you know he’s a pro at pretending to be a Republican. He thinks he can get away with it with ObamaCare by voting for debate and then “No” later. Unfortunately for Ben, voters have not only become well-informed but more cynical. They will see through this weak ploy. He won’t be able to say “I didn’t commit the robbery because I was only driving the getaway car.” or “I didn’t join in with the Manson Family, I only unlocked the doors for them.” Ben’s special brand of innocence won’t play this time. He’s acting like a loyal Reid Democrat in playing a key role in advancing a nanystate monstrosity that Nebraskans don’t want. His political fate is sealed.- sjm

Bailout Newspapers? They’re trying to save the Wrong Kind of Paper!

I understand the EnviroWakos that seem to be running the show have decided that evil Americans should not have soft toilet paper for their American backsides. Simultaneously, The Obama has decided he wants to rescue his good friends, the failed liberal daily newspapers.

Ridiculous. The big shot dailies flounder because they have ceased to market a decent product. Thier “news” is not only completely unreliable but delivered with unsufferable arrogance. They blame the internet- but the high level of myth and misinformation on the net make it very possible for a well-done newspaper with a reputation for integity and reliability to do well.

No, they deserve no bailout! Here’s the plan: let the newsprint relics die and use those trees to produce our toilet paper. Don’t save the paper nobody wants. The only thing that deserves bailing out are American -er-well-butts.- sjm

Where is a Tearful Pelosi, Fearful of G-20 Protesters

Where is Nancy Pelosi now? Is she terrified of all of the wild demonstrators outside of the G-20 meeting? Where is the trembling voice and the tearful eyes? She doesn’t know who’s in the Philadelphia freak show, yet, apparently, she is confident that Obama is not in danger- not from one of these radicals. What a phony she is and what a deplorable double standard we see from the left and their press!-sjm

Now you know why Obama Wasn’t “Interested in Reinstating Fairness Doctrine”

The Cool Conservative was proud to be among the first to offer tips to understanding ObamaSpeak. As we’ve told you, when he says “he’s not interested in” this or that, listeners are supposed to interpret that as opposition. When candidate Obama said he had “no particular interest in reinstating the fairness doctine”, the dewy-eyed Kathleen Parkers and the oh-so-determined-to-be-impartial Bill OReilley’s eagerly asserted that obama would govern from the center and not declare war on conservative talk radio.

Now that Obama has established Mark Lloyd as his FCC diversity Czar, even the most sweetly naive must see the truth. Candidate Obama told us he wasn’t interested in The Fairness Doctrine because he knew then that he would not need it to destroy America’s right-leaning talk show iondustry. Another strategy was already inplay.

In 2006 Obama’s pal Lloyd had already published a book- that’s right published and open for the public- even Obama to read. Entitled Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy. Not to get into details, Lloyd outlines his plans to decimate Limbaugh and his ilk through FCC machinations. Obama knew exactly how he’d dismantle talk radio. It must have given him a chuckle to hear so many anchors and pundits say that he didn’t support the Fairness Doctrine. Town Halls About Much More

The current rash of spirited Town Hall meetings is not about the public organizing of a handful of violent and imbalanced extremists as the Administration and establishment media would have us think. Nor are these happenings about Health care alone. More of us need to point out that the anger and angst of the citizenry has been six months in production. People are rebeling against the way the President does things as much as what he does. They have been driven to thier limits by the annoyingly cute word games Obama plays to get his way. They are infuriated by the obvious “let’s create a crisis” strategy already run into the ground by Team Obama. They are angry about false deadlines that are obviously designed to control, manipulate and silence the people. Pelosi, Reid and the Democrat Congressional leadership had planned Health Care to have been pushed through and voted on before voters knew what was happening to them- before they had a chance to speak out. After the Stimulus and Omnibus, Citizens are livid about convoluted legislation that is so blatantly designed to deceive them. Health Care Reform is imminently important, yes, but it is also the straw that is breaking the camel’s back. Unfortunately, our poor camel will be among those unable to get care.

Durbin- You Hypocrite!!

By now you have probably heard that during a committee meeting when the high abortian rates in DC came up, Dick Durbin said “that’s a black thing.”

If Durbin were a crazed liberal, but true to his beliefs and conducted himself with integity, at least I could respect him. But his lack integrity precludes that.

Imagine, if you will, that Rush Limbaugh had made this remark. They’d burn him at the stake outside the studio and Dick Durbin would bring the lighter!

Why is it that when American judges are sentencing criminals the words “for life” often mean a few years, but when they say “for life” in reference to a term on the Supreme Court they really mean life?

Another Simple Truth: It is Cap ‘N Trade That Will Destroy Our Planet

The Enviro-Whackos that are pushing Capn’ Trade are either incredibly stupid, astoundingly gulluble or they are not being honest about their game. It is dictated by logic.American industry may not be perfect- but it cares and it tries to follow regulations and to be responsible. Industry in China and similar manufacturing venues does not care- does not try. After the enforcement of C&T, American industry will begin to fold. The percentage of goods for world consumpttion made in the USA will Plummet. The percentage made in enviro offenders like China will skyrocket because C&T won’t diminish demand. The more manufacturing done outside of US borderd the more pollution. Cangrats, envirowhackos. You will have done it yourselves- and that’s a simple truth. –SJM

For Republican Leadership Sotomayor Is a Watershed Moment

Left-leaning mediatypes and Democrat talking heads revealed a vital peice of their strategy to approve Sotomayor. They seized on Rush’s terse but accurate description of Sotomayor as a “reverse racist”. “Surely the Republican leadership will not want to be connected to such a pepugnant statement”, “Certainly, Rush Limbugh does not speak for the Party and the GOP will support her to show that Limbaugh does not control them.” and on and on with similar remarks.
Perhaps the most important thing to observe in this entire confirmation process will be the behavior the Republicans and their leadership. If they fall for the amateurishly predictable Democrat bait and fail to fight this dangerously activist judge with EVERYTHING they’ve got, it will be a mistake with devastating repercussions. –sjm
