The Scoop on the American Police Force
October 4, 2009 on 12:38 am | In National Political | No CommentsThere is a lot of chatter out there about the American Police Force and what is being described as their militia-like takeover of the small Montana town of Hardin. Hardly. As far as we can see, at least at this point, the financially strapped community went into business voluntarilly with the Blackwater-wannabe private security/private investigation/mercenary outfit. It seems that when Hardin’s hopes to utilize their unused, new prison as Gitmo stateside were dashed, American Police Force came to the rescue, negotiating a deal to fill and run the prison and to set up a training facility , as well. If these projects are legitimate and come to fruition, Hardin should net at least 2.6 million a year and have more than 200 new jobs. The jury, unfortunately is still out on this business. Leftie blogs suspect this is a new radical militia. We fear it is a con- about cons if you will. The organizatoion has a web page, but we’re concerned at the lack of any names of executives or personnel listed on the page. One exception to this is Becky Shaw, local news anchor very recently brought on to do PR. There are no specific for clients mentioned for reference and word has it that claims of being retained by the US government cannot be verified. Also of concern is the fact that founder and head honcho, Michael Hiton (probably not his birth name) appears to have an extensive criminal background. Hiton is naturalized and originally comes from Montenegr, which is one of the original six Republics of Yugoslavia and considers itself to be a soverign State. One thing that has people taking note ids that the logo for the AMERICAN Police Force is the official sumbol of Montenegro and very eastern Europen looking. This could be a smart move on the part of Hardin- it could be a con. There is a slim possibility it could be something more subversive- but Hilton’s criminal history indicates that he is all about the money.- sjm
