NO Chicago- About Bush? Yes, it Was!
October 2, 2009 on 5:13 pm | In National Political | No CommentsChicago just lost the Olympics in the most humiliating way. I’m sure by the time this is written, Team Obama will have penned a statement placing the defeat at Bush’s feet. Of course, the White House will say that the hatred generated by Bush has not disappated yet- that it will take longer than anticipated to repair the tarnished national reputation that poor, hapless Obama inherited…
And in a way, they’ll be right. The world fled from the idea of Chicago because of the LACK of Bush. They may have hated the swaggering cowboy- but they respected him. Some even feared him. They trusted him to keep his own country save from terrorists and they trusted him to keep visitors safe within his shores. The IOC may gush at the Obama’s as rock stars, but the anti Chicago sentiment reflects their assesment of Obama as a weak leader building a weak nation. A nation that by 2016 would be totally defenseless against anti western terroism and a city by 2016 then totally overrun by gang violence in the absence of strong law enforcement. Had the swaggering cowboy Bush been at the helm, the IOC would have been much more likely to vote for Chicago and to feel secure in doing so.
