Oh So Many People to Pity

In the wake of Obama’s most recent comments, I find myself feeling so sorry for so many.
1.) Senior Citizens who voted for Obama. So many followed the guidance of AARP (Dem/Liberal Lobby in Disguise) and supported Obama. I imagine they were beguiled by Obama’s campaign era optimism and aura of great concern for the welfare of senior citizens. I can only imagine how they feel now knowing that the nice young man who seemed so spiritual is actually worshiping at the altar cold, utilitarian, ruthless expediency. How must it feel to have used your vote for someone who considers you unworthy to live because you cannot “produce” for his central government.

2) Nancy Pelosi turned herself into a pretzel to get Barack Obama elected and then to steam roll his agenda. I believe that Obama’s got his White House homeboys revving up the Blame Bus. Very soon you will see Obama hurling the unpleasant Pelosi right under that bus. She has turned herself into an iron-fisted dictator to accomplish all that Obama and his liberal handlers have expected of her.Enter, sinking popularity numbers for the Obama. A scapegoat is needed. Obama will discard her as readily as he would any nonproductive person. In the next few days, you will hear over and over again that ALL OF THE LEGISLATION that Pelosi has shepherded through the Congress is not only unpopular with Americans but a TOTAL DEPARTURE FROM OBAMA’S WISHES AND AGENDA. I promise- the White House will paint Obama as a fiscal conservative betrayed by the big spending Pelosi. I can see her pastel pant-suited limbs flailing about as the Blame Bus takes her all the way down Pennsylvania Avenue.

3) I feel so sorry for all the Americans who voted for Obama because they honestly thought he would be a healer and a unifier. The represented every race and ethnicity and voted with the purest of intentions and the highest of expectations. It must hurt to see his snide, sarcastic tone, his cocky glibness in discussing volatile matters and his willingness to arouse any kind of friction to accomplish a political end.

Durbin- You Hypocrite!!

July 21, 2009 on 7:31 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

By now you have probably heard that during a committee meeting when the high abortian rates in DC came up, Dick Durbin said “that’s a black thing.”

If Durbin were a crazed liberal, but true to his beliefs and conducted himself with integity, at least I could respect him. But his lack integrity precludes that.

Imagine, if you will, that Rush Limbaugh had made this remark. They’d burn him at the stake outside the studio and Dick Durbin would bring the lighter!

“The Barack Obama Show” Again???

July 21, 2009 on 7:19 pm | In National Political | No Comments

The gallery of past American Presidents contains some real characters and a few scoundrels, but I don’t believe we’ve ever seen an abusive overuse of Executive Privilege to equal Obama’s actions. The creation of a network of appointed officials to usurp governmental duties from the elected definitely exemplifies such abuse. There is also the use of the media.
Presidents traditionally are offered television and radio time for important addresses. What Obama is doing is far beyond that. He is commandeering primetime on a regular basis not to make a presidential address but to lobby a political agenda. That’s right- when a law is passed it belongs to him and to all of us. When he is pushing for some law he wants passed, he’s more a politician than a president. As long as he is lobbying one side of contested legislation he has no right to use commercial media to further his POLITICAL ends. This is an abuse. BOYCOTT!- sjm

A Riddle

July 21, 2009 on 7:04 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Why is it that when American judges are sentencing criminals the words “for life” often mean a few years, but when they say “for life” in reference to a term on the Supreme Court they really mean life?

Harry Alford Accuses Boxer of Racism- New Conservative Hero

July 21, 2009 on 7:00 pm | In National Political | No Comments

I’m not a huge boxing fan but I really felt I was ringside watching the National Black Chamber of Commerce’s Harry Alford defeat Barbara Boxer in a battle of wits. In a Senate hearing about climate change, Boxer treated Alford rudely, arrogantly and, as he saw it , with racism. Naturally, she only played her little race card because Alford was not saying what she wanted to hear. He was doing his job and pointing out the reality of the profound harm that will be suffered by the American job market in the wake of proposed “climate change” legislation.
Alford was great, civil but determined to resist bullying and speak his mind! Alford was equally impressive on an O’Reilly interview- S. J. Murphy, Editor www.thecoolconservative.com

Republicans Must Stand Their Ground on Health Care

July 19, 2009 on 6:36 pm | In National Political | No Comments

The establishment media is doing what they can to help the Administration advance their government takeover of health care. They are using their bully pulpits to persuade Republicans to sacrifice principle to please constituents who want “something done”. Let’s not let them weaken. Let’s stay on them. Lets help them remember that NONE of this will help the problem and they must stand firmly against it. What the media is NOT telling them is that they are being watched more closely by an even larger number of constituents who want nothing to do with this boondoggle. The media will NEVER tell Congressional Republicans that this is their LAST Chance with many frustrated voters. The people do not want any more mealy-mouthed comprises with evil. They want tough leadership in opposition to ObamaCare and disaster will follow if they don’t get it.-sjm

Al Qaeda Allies Have Upscale Conference at Hilton

July 19, 2009 on 6:20 pm | In National Political | No Comments

Americans are reeling at the news that the radical Muslim extremest group Hizub Ut Tahrir met so openly to espouse their jihadistlike cause that includes dismantling capitalism and forcing Sahri Law on Americans. I’m not so shocked. For all his faults, George Bush was feared and respected by our enemies. I do not believe for one moment that this nervy public affrontery would have happened on Bush’s watch. This is just the tip of the iceberg. With the weak Obama at the helm, we can expect those who hate our country to try anything. It will be like a convention of shoplifters who just found out the mall security system is down.-sjm

Sotomayor- a Woman of many Faces

July 19, 2009 on 6:06 pm | In National Political | No Comments

I’m starting to miss Sonia Sotomayor’s wise Latina persona. At least she was recognizable. Her latest routine is to switch judicial temperements like a master of disguise on the lamb. One minute she’s channelling Ginsberg the next its Roberts. I find this political expedience in an effort to be confirmed rather disgusting. It my mind this manipulative behavior just shot to head of my list of reasons why we don’t need her on the HIgh Court.-sjm

Congressman King the Courageous Stands Alone

Rep. Steve King of Iowa’s "Fightin’ Fifth District" stands alone in opposition to ridiculous political correctness and DC game-playing.Yesterday we saw a rarity- a Congressional vote of 399 to 1. The vote was on a resolution to have a marker appear in the new Capitol Visitor Center stating that African-American slaves were involved in the building of the structure. The marker is to be made of stone quarried by slaves.King states he has no objection to something acknowledging the contributions of slaves, so why the lonely "no" vote?  King gave an interview to Scott Voorhees, whose morning talk show airs on News Radio 1110 KFAB in Omaha, Nebraska, to answer just that question. King said that he had  come to the "end of his patience" in  dealing with what he called "quid pro quo" deals on Capitol Hill.King stated that the Architect of the Capital has been making a determined effort to "scrub" the nation’s capitol of any reference to Christianity. According to King, the Architect has gone so far as to refuse to give ceremonial flags with a certificate that features the wording "In the Year of Our Lord". He has scrubbed any mention of God from Congressional chambers. King described the striking of a deal with the Architect by which he would permit the display of the national motto "In God We Trust" and the Pledge of Allegiance as containing the word God in the new public building. In return Representatives and Senators agreed to support the slavery marker and to change the name of the Great Hall to "Emancipation Hall".King stated that his ancestor had fought for the abolition of slavery and that he himself was a great admirer of Martin Luther King."I would have been an abolitionist if I’d been alive then", said King.King expressed great concern about efforts to remove signs of Christianity as that religion plays a very important role in our history. King also suggested that when we remember the 645,000 slaves that came to this country we should also member the hundreds of thousands of Union soldiers who died, most of them white, ostensibly to win freedom for slaves.I am grateful to Voorhees for bringing the facts of this to light. We all owe tremendous gratitude to Iowa’s Congressman Steve  King for having the courage to stand up for his principles. We salute him, also,  for not yielding to the insidious extortion that is practiced against anyone who is not "politically correct", especially in the treacherous arena of Washington race politics. The major issue here, for me, is the role of the Architect. I will be studying the position and the man who wields such power through it. It disgusts me that our elected officials must go to such lengths to preserve the inclusion of our acceptance of God in our national culture. How Obama Gets His Stats

July 8, 2009 on 6:34 pm | In National Political | No Comments

In case you missed it the other day, Rush had a very interesting caller the other day. The caller was a gentleman, who as a small business owner, sold some material to a customer. The customer was purchasing the goods using stimulus funds. The custoomer gave the small business a 50 page questionairre to fill out. It asked how many jobs had been save or created with the funds. Because no jobs had been impacted by this partiucular purchase, the owner wrote “zero”. He was then conttacted by the government via phone. They were not happy with the zero. They wanted several jobs to be classified as maintained or saved with the purchase. The business owner told them over and over that the purchase had not affected the job situation. They wouldn’t accept that. They considered every job there to have been “saved by the Stimulous Bill”. He finally relented and gave them an answer of “one”. Transparency my omnibus! This gives us just an inkling of the sneaky games these people are playing!
