At the risk of being labeled a paranoid conspiracy theorists, I’ll say i- This public outcry over AIG bonuses was as engineered and calculated as the October economic meltdown was. Of Course they approved of the bonuses and of course they knew how the public would react to the news. Remember- let no crisis go to waste- and if you don’t have one, create it. The bonuses were allowed to happen and then the public outcry was ENCOURAGED. Why? Because it opened the door to something very, very dangerous. The precedent has been set. If Big Brother thinks a business executive has made to much money, that money can punitively be taxed retroactively. That’s real power and it is in the hands of those who would see this Republic be a thing of the past.

  1. The Democrats created this problem with a huge bill no one had time to read. Senator Dodd slipped it in because he was afraid lawful contracts broken would leave the government open to law suits. The Secretary of Treasury knew about it on March 10, or was it March 3, or another day? Obama, the alleged leader of our country appears not to have known until his teleprompter told him to rail against the bonuses.

The proposed 90% tax bill on the bonuses is a virtual bill of attainder. Some of the recipients did nothing wrong. Others did, but they all are working to dismantal what has become our property with lowest cost possible. Threats of violence and loss of income is prompting some to resign. Who in his/her right mind would work for that bank or any other financial institution which did or will need federal money? Heck of a job Timmy.
